Indoor Soccer

A descendant sport or variant of soccer in which two teams of five players each participate in a space 24 meters long by 13 or 15 meters wide. Generally a smaller and harder ball is used than the one used for soccer practice. A game lasts 40 minutes, divided into two equal parts, with a stipulated rest time.

The objective is to introduce a ball into the goal of the opposing team (goal), while the opposing team must avoid scoring. Only the feet are used, except the goalkeeper, the only one that the regulations allow to use the hands is the goalkeeper, but within his area. The terrain is not grass but hard surface.

According to history, this sport arose in Uruguay in 1930, a time when the few existing courts remained full, a situation that forced fans of this sport to practice it in the streets or in small places.
