Handball

Handball, as its name indicates, is a sport made up of two teams of seven members (six in the field and one in goal) who play it all to score the highest number of goals with their hands and thus be the winner.

The game takes place on a rectangular field measuring 20 meters by 40 meters, with a goal on each side and in two halves of 30 minutes each; In the event of a tie, overtime will be played and if the situation persists, penalties will determine the winner.

In 1917 the International Amateur Handball Federation was created; then in 1936 he appeared in the Berlin Olympics, later he disappeared, but in 1972 he again made his debut in the Munich Olympics in the indoor mode, where he went from a practice of 11 players outdoors, to seven on the indoor track.

Handball will take place at the XIX Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games at Coliseo Ciudad Quintero in the capital of Cesar.
