Boxing

February 24, 2021

Boxing is considered a contact sport, with the participation of two fighters whose sole purpose is to hit each other until there is a winner. This activity is regulated by rules that indicate that they should only use their fists with gloves, and the contact will be from the waist up, that is, the head and torso, being prohibited from touching the neck or the lower part of the body with force, kick the opponent, or throw head butts.

The fight takes place in a ring, with a time of three rounds or rounds of three minutes each, controlled by a referee who follows the boxers. In the case of women's boxing, the duration is 4 rounds of 2 minutes each.

The fight is won by whoever achieves the knockout blow that immediately defeats the adversary, in case of not registering a knockout, the jury will define who is the winner.

Although, due to the aggressiveness of this sport, most of those who practice them are men, nowadays many women are observed with “gloves on”.
